Hello Family!
It's been another good week. I travelled to Praia once
again to pick up my greenie. She's a cutie, she speaks the language really well
already and I honestly don't think I could ́ve chosen myself a better last
comp. The work is moving forward, after passing a lot of time outside of
the area for the past couple weeks we ́re starting at square one, lol, lots and
lots of contacting. Which of course always makes for some fun and
interesting experiences, but always cool to meet new people and make new
friends. People here are super nice and open (usually).
We had a particularly interesting first lesson
with a man who was very adamant that we should be holding our sabbath day
worship on saturday. It was honestly just kinda funny how he couldn
́t stop talking about or move on from the subject, but it got me thinking
about how everyone kinda does that sometimes. We let one doubt hold us back
from learning something bigger, we may become so focused on our doubts we can't even
make sense of it enough to receive an answer. For some, they replace their
testimonies and beliefs with doubts... When we focus on growing our
testimonies, when we focus on Christ, He empowers us to overcome and answer
doubts. When we let our doubts grow, they don't just consume our
testimonies but they also destroy our relationship with God. So, just to echo
Elder Uchtdorf ́s wisdom: "Doubt your doubts before you doubt your
faith".
Annnnyyyyways, that's about all I ́ve got for today, but I
wish you all a lovely week and encourage everyone to keep up Lighting the
World this christmas season.
