Larry el Largartija

Familia Dearest,
I haven't got much time this week :) but what else is new, lol. So just a thought or so: This week had some ups and downs, mostly ups though! We have been doing divisions with some of the rs women and young women and it's been amazing to have the members paricipating so much in the work! It was an inpired counsel our presidente gave us and I really believe it's changing our area. It's even more amazing to see how excited they've become because of the difference/ blessing it's bringing into their lives.
And even in the trickier or more difficult parts of the week, everytime when we got overwhelmed, it was quckly followed by a miracle. For every trial we get in our lives, I know that when we are obedient and diligent, we are blessed ten fold!
Anyways enjoy the pics, especially of our new "pet"( intruder and pest control) larry the largatixa (lizard)(still better than the cockroaches).

Meste Sim!

Nha Famidja

This week passed as though is were the blink of an eye, the majority of it at least. Anyways, a couple of these week adventures included an hour long"walk" to cha de tanque, a small village ths part of our area. But when we got there and started talking to people they said that every weekend two little white young men like us talk to people there, etc, etc. So we were like, oh must have been a mix up and this actually part of some elders area, but then afterward we asked all the elders in our zone and it's not part of any of their areas...so either those people were talking to Jehovah Wittnesses or the Three Nephites, hahaha. Anyways, my computer is broken and making it difficult to type, so here's a brief summary of some of the other events from this week.
  • We did a division with the some of the young woman in our ward and it was amazing! I wish I had done this as a young woman, their testimonies our so strong and it's amazing the affect it has in inviting the spirit and touching our investigators.
  • An evangelist pastor is forbidding people in his congregation to read the Book of Mormon :(
  • And I was pretty close to a mental breakdown because of the cockroach infestation in our house but it's okay now, I'm at peace with it.
  • But we had a super miraculous day Tuesday and we found a woman who lives in one of my old areas that I'd never met but that I tried to find because of her name in our area book, but I found her and she's talking to the sisters their now!!! And we went to share a spiritual thought with her so I pulled a Book of Mormon out of my bag for her to use and it was in English! I had been carrying a useless English bom around for hours! Buuuut when she saw it she got so excited because she'd been wanting one in English but hadn't managed to find one! So then the spirit was super strong and Sister Barbosa and I could just feel that the Lord had sent us there because it's this woman time to accept the gospel, anyways, then our lesson ended up being super powerful and she promised to go to church! And basically every little tiny thing starting from literal months ago was prepared by the Lord for this one encounter! I can't even fully describe all of it or how amazing it was but man, it was mind blowing. #milagressaoreais
  • Also Cintia (an eleito that me and Sis. Pasi found in Monte Sossego) got baptized this last week! One of those sad things about transfers is that you can't always get to see how things turn out but I'm so happy for her!

5. Divisions with these cuties
6. Doesn't matter how much I tan, I'm still soooo white.
7. Rainy days and...I think this was Thursday?
8. We found yet another part of our area we did know existed, don't ask me how to get there but now we've gotta find some way because the eleitos always live in the farthest away places!
9. Peace out (lysee, sara, 20/20 ;)

Maracuja

Familia Dearest,
Surprise, the weeks are flying by! This last one was little all over the place with zone conference, house repairs and the never ending party's happening in our area. But it makes everyday another adventure. Our area seems to be unending, every time we think we've found the last of it, another city shows up! But Some of this weeks tender mercies include:

Getting a free ride from one of our investigators who happens to be a hiace driver and just happened to pass by and offer us a ride at the exact moment when we were running late to our inter views with our mission president! #milagressaoreais
While yelling at an apartment building where one of our investigators live (because for some reason the majority of people here don't believe in doorbells) some random lady called us over and asked if we wanted some tea. But do not be mistaken, we did not receive like a glass of tea, no, we received several branches from a Melissa bush, haha. But it did make some good tea.
Also, looks like we'll be moving houses which means no more cockroaches!!! Now we just have to find a new apartment.

Anyways, that's about all I have the will power to write this week, enjoy the pics!

1. Another lost area found!

2. Waiting...

3. We were invited for tea, (the kind that actually comes prepared this time)

4. Also, I ate maracuja for the first time (passionfruit), that was quite the experience.

5. Reunited with Sister Fortes

6. Zone Conference

7. The formouso Sister Welling, what a legend

8. Preparing our own tea leaves (promise it's not drugs)

9. Where are we???

Whelp, that's all for today kids, love you all, have a good week, make good choices and appreciate your disembodied cow head free streets ;)

Awsomada!

Fam Bam!
Well, new transfer, new comp, new area, new challenges, new me! (Just kidding, still the same old trash panda). But anyways, it's been quite the week, my area is gigantic! Love walking, but hey, it ain't mountains so can't complain! But besides being more flat, it's basically fogo again, it rained my first 3 days here! (Why they send me to the only cold places?) But I'm pretty hyped for the new transfer, I know we've got a lot of work and miracles cut out for us.
Spiritual thought for this week: D&C 14:17. I've always loved that video of the marshmallow experiment that shows those kids trying to wait 15 min. without eating a marshmallow so that they can receive another one. Our life here on earth is basically (on a larger spectrum) the same thing. If we can endure without giving into temptations that would give us a cheap and momentary "happiness", we have the promise that we'll have a greater and longer lasting happiness in THIS life and then ETERNAL life with our families, Jesus Christ and Father in Heaven. That's obvi way better than a marshmallow or literally anything else that the world has to offer. So ficar firme fam, read the scriptures, go to church and do whatever is necessary so that Satan doesn't deprive you of your celestial inheritance.

Photo Notes:
