Quando O Anjou Proclamou

12/17/2018

Alo!

Can you believe Christmas is next week! Sometimes life is just so crazy short. Especially when you're so crazy tall. Unless you're Sister Ashby, in which case both you and life are short, haha. This week we had our zone Christmas celebration which included present swapping, weird fruit dessert, the AP's in light up Santa hats and a musical number from yours truly (okay, but publically singing is officially the hardest thing I've had to do on the mission), with the accompaniment of my talented companion of course. But it all ended up being a real blast, testimonies were shared, tears were shed and with all the Christmas cheer, especially in remembrance of the savior's birth, I felt just so completely happy and at peace. You cycle through a lot of different emotions very rapidly on the mission, but I'm so grateful for the joy, spirit and comfort I've come to know on the mission that I don't think I could've found anywhere else. What a truly special and sacred experience it is, especially now during the Christmas season.

A couple of fun notes from this week's happenings:

-I cut Sister Ashby's hair and it is more or less even.
-We found a stray kitten and gave it to a member.
-Heard the hilariously traumatic story of how one of our elders once broke both of his arms.
-Slowly but surely learning every Cabo Verdean children's game ever.
-Sister Ashby's mom sent us the most legit 12 days of missionary Christmas ever.
-And all our popcorn kernels are infested with bugs.

I think that's about it for this week, I love you all dearly and invite you to rejoice in the Christmas season by serving others, do some missionary work in your homes, temples and anywhere you can and remember the significance of the season, the Savior Jesus Christ.

-Sister Bradley
