BAKING POWDER!

12/31/2018

Another transfer has come and gone already! Wild. Anyways, today has been crazy  and my brain is fried so y'all get a bullet pointed of this week's highlights ta'bom?

-Christmas eve, ahhhhhh, we got our hair in trances, which are those little braids with beads and it's how they do all the little girls hair here and it was a dream come true. Even if maybe I couldn't pull it off like they do, lol.
-Christmas Eve we ate dinner with our bishop, the Elders and basically half of the ward at his house. And we ate sooo much food I was ready to die but bishops mom, who is my favorite lady ever, kept telling us to eat more, luckily the Elders took most of the heat and ate more than any human should ever.
-Also the power went out in the entire city Christmas Eve so we had some candles burning in our house that night, buuuuut then we accidentally fell asleep with some of  them still burning (yes, we are that stupid) anyways, we then woke up around midnight to a small, but growing fire on our nightstand. After a moments debate after how exactly we should put the fire out we put a lid on it which took care of the bulk of the problem. Unfortunately our house was covered in a fine layer of ash and we still have a scorch mark burned onto our wall and table. But literal milagres that that was it.
-Anyways, Christmas day included sweeping away ash from every surface in our house but was saved by our loving members, packages from home and of course talking to our families!
-Sister Ashby turned 20!!!!!! And I got to decorate the whole house! But now we have more cake than we have hope of ever eating.
-And the rest of this week was filled with many last times and  goodbyes. Sad to see the transfer draw to a close especially when I knew I would be leaving the aréa, of course transfers had more surprises in store as we found out that they are white washing our area so both Sis, Ashby and I will be leaving! Sister Ashby is going to Sal and I'm going to Palmarejo in Praia! So basically I'm going from one the most rural, crazy sister aréas in the mission to one of the nicest "chiciest". Good Times.
-Muitos Bencao's esta semana! The Holidays were crazy but the Lord has been good to us and the work presses on. With everything happening I'm sad we'll both be leaving the area but I have faith in the Missionaries coming in and excited for them to pick up where we've left off! It's all in the Lord's hands.
-Much love for you all, thanks for all your prayers and support!
