Querido Família,
This week was one for the books! More than a little wild, but the best ones always are.
We had three baptisms! And they have the coolest stories! Junior was already taught by sisters like forever ago and has been coming to church pretty frequently for the past six years! And he was never baptized!?! But, it's because he has like a crazy work schedule (he works in like security) so we sat down and made a schedule of when he doesn't work and planned out to teach him every day for two weeks so he could get baptized. Then our other two baptisms were Bruno (10) and Leandro (12) who are my favorite!!! Their mom was a less active and when we first met her we asked if we could talk to her and her kids (she's a single mom of 5!) and that first night we were teaching them I got major deja-vu (hope that's how it's spelled but my computer only spell checks portuguese), it was like I had already dreamed being there or something, and the whole lesson I just felt that we were meant to be there and at the end when we were walking home I turned to Sister Patricio and said that I knew we were going to help them be baptized. Anyways, four weeks later and here we are! And it was so cool, that first week when their mom and all of them came to church she turned to us afterwards and said she felt that she is going to stay really strong in the gospel. They are literally such an amazing family! Also her three year old daughter Raphaela remembers my name and pronounces it better than the majority of adults here so she may or may not be my favorite child in the country.
Anyways, yeah we've been having so many crazy miracles here, soooo many people prepared to receive the gospel and it's been such an amazing experience to help them get this message and learn the gospel. We have to work a lot and it's not always easy but seeing the change the gospel brings in people's lives and having the chance to be a part of them coming unto Christ is sooooooo amazing and completely irreplaceable. Everyday when leave our house we say this phrase:
Acreditar em Milagres
Trabalhar pelos Milagres
Olhar por os Milagres
Milagres Acontecem
(which basically translates to:)
Believe in Miracles
Work for Miracles
Look for Miracles
Miracles Happen
I can testify whole heartedly that miracles happen and that they're happen. I know that this is the Restored Church of Jesus Christ and that he guides us today through a living Prophet. I'm so grateful to be here and that I was raised with the restored truth in my life. God knows and loves us all, he has callings for us in this life and I know that as we follow Him and His church we can improve and change for the better more than we ever imagined, helping the people he has prepared for us to help, ultimately being united as members of one big eternal family. I love you all sooooo much! Have a fantastic week!
