Nao Mudjer

Dearest Family,

This week I had the realization that I've begun thinking in Portuguese, and I've received at least two compliments on my creole this last week!!! Don't get me wrong, pretty sure most brazilian five year olds still speak better than me and my accent is just about as white as it gets, buuuuut having a companion that only speaks portuguese has been a blessing for my language skills. I may or may not be forgetting how to speak english but I'll burn that bridge when I get to it.

This week while teaching the Word of Wisdom to one of our pesquisadores, some woman outside of her house was calling to her, yelling gibberish creole and in response our pesquisadora yelled out "NÃO MUDJER!" (creole for "no woman"), ironically at the exact moment Sister Patricio asked what she would do from now on when someone offers her coffee. Needless to say it took a minute for the Spirit to return because we were laughing so hard. So next time you need to reject temptation and peer pressure, just remember "Não Mudjer"!

Tenho Saudades para o templo!!! (I miss the temple). For those of you that live even remotely near a temple, don't take for granted the blessing you have to frequently attend the temple! I'm so excited for the people here who will finally have the opportunity to visit the temple! I just wish it could be built while I was still here! But I've been thinking about the temple a lot lately, I've always lived soooo close to so many temples that I didn't ever really realize what a HUGE blessing it is and just how amazing they are! But I encourage you all to think and study more about the temple and the great importance/ significance they have for us personally and the world in these latter days!

Eu sei que estamos guiado de um Profeta vivo e que os obras do Senhor estão crescendo nestes últimos dias na preparação de segunda vinda de nosso Salvador.
